G.A.I.N. – powered by Lowe’s
As part of the inaugural G.A.I.N. cohort, The Independence Fund is embarking on their first phase in Apparo’s 2-year nonprofit accelerator: a technology assessment and plan.
Founded in 2007, The Independence Fund is committed to empowering our nation’s catastrophically wounded, injured, or ill Veterans to overcome physical, mental, and emotional wounds incurred in the line of duty. They are dedicated to improving the lives of both our Veterans and their families. Through their Mobility, Caregiver, Adaptive Sports, Advocacy, and Family programs, The Independence Fund strives to bridge the gap of unmet needs for Veterans and their caregivers.
The Independence Fund has been matched to a corporate volunteer team from Lowe’s, who will conduct their tech assessment and provide a plan with recommendations for improvement. Lowe’s is also a generous sponsor of the G.A.I.N. program. Through Apparo’s Epic Change Agent Program, this project is being facilitated by volunteer Raj Merchant of Perficient.
