Digital Leader in Transition
Amy Phillips is an Information Technology (IT) Executive with over 10 years of Global Senior Leadership experience. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Buffalo, she worked as a contractor to General Electric Aerospace in Endicott, NY for two years prior to joining Corning Incorporated. While working for Corning for 30 years, her key roles included: Division CIO for Optical Communications, IT Director Global Application Services, and Director of IT Strategy, Architecture, and Performance Excellence. Her teams spanned North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia with a focus on mentoring and developing leaders to build the future organization.
On the NC Tech Board of Directors for 6 years, she supported NC Technology Companies and the creation of the State of Technology Industry Report (STIR). She is co-chair for the Society of Information Management (SIM) Women in Charlotte, working to provide a forum for Women in Technology Leaders to find support, growth, recognition, and inspiration.
Although she lived in New York for most of her life, she now considers North Carolina home after re-locating for Corning six years ago. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, and camping in the Smoky Mountains. Her greatest joy comes from spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Presently, Amy is working on a certificate for Executive Women in Leadership at Cornell University and is looking forward to participating in the technology growth in Charlotte.
