CIO, Global Support Office
As chief information officer for the Global Support Office (GSO), Michael Laurenti leads the GSO IT delivery team, which is responsible for the delivery of global IT solutions for Ahold Delhaize; an international food retail group, operating supermarkets and e-commerce businesses with 21 local brands that employs more than 375,000 associates in 6,500 stores in 11 countries.
Laurenti joined Delhaize America in 2014 as the company’s chief information officer (CIO), where he was responsible for Information Technology, supporting the company’s millions of customers, 100,000 associates and 1,300 stores. He is an accomplished information technology leader, with more than 20 years of experience.
Prior to joining Delhaize America, Laurenti served as executive vice president and chief information officer at Belk Department Stores, the largest privately held department store chain in the country. At Belk, he led a team that was responsible for the development, deployment and support of all technology solutions for the retailer. In addition, he has held information technology leadership positions at Family Dollar Stores, Linens ‘N’ Things and Toys “R” Us.
Laurenti holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics and Business Administration from Cornell University. He resides in Waxhaw, N.C., with his wife and two children.
