NPower’s 6th Annual Digital Ball on Saturday, April 28, 2012  involved secret agents and a great reveal as NPower Charlotte Region launched their2012 db new name and brand - Apparo. With more than 400 people in attendance, Apparo raised $450,000 to support nonprofit technology innovation in the Charlotte community and beyond.

Held at the Southend Field House, event attendees saw firsthand how NPower is behind the hope that local nonprofits provide our community. Implementing the right technology eliminates obstacles, promotes innovation and provides solutions to commonly shared problems. The event theme, “Incognito” tied to the brand launch. Attendees (Agents 2012) were given a mission to share the Apparo story and to help connect both nonprofits and technology volunteers.

The Technology Innovation Award, presented by Accenture, was awarded to Autism Services of Mecklenberg County. Autism Services will use the Technology Innovation Award to implement innovative aps via tablet technology to help increase communications with their clients.

Chris Meade, past Executive Director of NPower, was inducted into the NPower Charlotte Region Hall of Fame. Chris was recognized for his leadership, strong relationships among the corporate and nonprofit communities, his entreprenurial spirit, and his passion for helping others.
