Craig Richardville is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for SCL Health, a faith-based and leading healthcare delivery system headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Craig has responsibilities for all information services and leading their digital transformation of healthcare utilizing data as a driver; analytics and business intelligence; artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotic process automation.
Prior to his career at SCL Health, Craig arrived at Atrium Health based in Charlotte in 1997 and as former Senior Vice President & Chief Information and Analytics Officer at Carolinas HealthCare System (Atrium Health) for more than 20 years, Craig transformed the company into a national leader in the effective use of technology. Most recently, Craig has served as owner and president of Richardville Consulting LLC, delivering resource, advisory and brokerage services for innovative start-up software and services companies. Before Atrium Health, Craig was with ProMedica Health System in Toledo, Ohio for 12 years, where he held several executive information and operational positions. Craig started his career with a Fortune 50 company prior to his healthcare career in 1986.
Some of Craig’s notable recognitions include being named the 2017 CIO of the Year “Leadership Award” recipient by Charlotte CIO for his impact on industry leaders across all verticals. He was awarded the 2015 John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and HIMSS in recognition of his leadership in driving digital transformation in healthcare. In 2013, he was awarded CIO of the Year by the Charlotte Business Journal. Under his leadership, Carolinas HealthCare System earned the “Most Wired” designation for 14 consecutive years, received the “Most Wired Advanced” award for the last two years and achieved HIMSS EMR Adoption Model Stage 7 for both Acute and Ambulatory.
Craig is a Fellow member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and the American College of HealthCare Executives; a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME); a board member for the Nutritional Research Institute at the University of North Carolina; and serves in a board advisory capacity for MediQuant, Queens University, and The Millenium Alliance. Craig has served as board chair for UNC Charlotte College of Computing and Informatics, Premier Member Technology Improvement Committee, and CareConnect Carolinas. Other services include board member for Blue Ridge Healthcare System, Healthy@Home, and Carolinas Shared Services.
Craig holds a Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in System Analysis.
