Epic increases the impact of Charlotte nonprofits in the community through small-scale technology projects. Epic projects are Community Impact Projects (CIPs) with a twist. While traditional CIPs partner a nonprofit in need with a skilled IT volunteer team for a project facilitated by Apparo, Epic also brings in local project managers and consultants, referred to as Change Agents, to serve as volunteer project facilitators.
As a result, Epic allows more nonprofits to receive the tech help they need. Change Agents receive the added benefit of building upon their technology and business skills, while creating positive social change.
What is a Change Agent?
An Epic Change Agent is a project manager or consultant who helps a Charlotte nonprofit transform their business processes through small-scale technology projects. Change Agents are seen as leaders for the greater good of Charlotte among their peers, supervisors, and the community as a whole.

Key responsibilities include:
- Attending two, 3-hour Epic training sessions
- Acting as the liaison for Apparo between the nonprofit and the CIP volunteer team
- Dedicating up to 3 hours a week during your project, including communicating, scheduling, meeting, and documentation
