Community Impact Projects

Apparo's Community Impact Projects (CIP) partner a nonprofit in need of a technology solution with a corporate volunteer to address that need. Projects vary from developing technology plans and business process assessments to network infrastructure, custom development, website and more.

How does an Apparo Community Impact Project Work?

An expert team of Apparo-facilitated corporate volunteers works with an appointed nonprofit to deliver an IT solution. Each solution addresses critical business needs and has the potential to increase the efficiency and reach of the nonprofit. With the skills your company uses every day, you can make a difference in the Charlotte nonprofit community.

The process is as follows:

  1. Apparo meets with a nonprofit to scope the potential CIP
  2. Apparo finds a corporate volunteer with the right expertise
  3. Apparo introduces the nonprofit to the corporate volunteer to confirm fit and interest, availability and project scope
  4. Corporate volunteer, nonprofit and Apparo work collaboratively to complete the CIP
  5. Project concludes with at follow-up at the 6 and 12-month mark

What Apparo corporate volunteers are saying:

“Apparo plays a powerful role in both the corporate and nonprofit communities. They provide the opportunity for employees at companies like Jabian to use their skills to give back to the community, while giving nonprofits the connections and resources necessary to achieve their missions. Having Apparo facilitate our Skilled Volunteer Engagement (now Community Impact Project) with Girls Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council has been instrumental in delivering a successful assessment for the nonprofit. I look forward to seeing the Girl Scouts’ next steps." - Courtney Ramey, Executive Director, Jabian; Board of Directors, Apparo

“With mobile internet use at an all-time high, nonprofits have the opportunity to receive donations from donors on the move. During our work with Power2Give, we determined that their site could be mobile-optimized with a low-cost upgrade in order to increase mobile donations. We were able to use our skills at CTS to offer Power2Give a game-changing solution. It was a privilege to deliver the great news.” Tom Miller, Managing Director, CTS

“Project H.O.P.E. was one of the nonprofits listed at the Digital Ball as needing help. After reading about their mission and where they were having IT challenges, I knew Project H.O.P.E. would fit right in to what we do.” Dan Gilroy, Director of Consulting Services, RDA

“One of the things I learned from the Foundation Project is that our skill sets are uniquely beneficial to nonprofit organizations.” - Walt Kelley, Senior Account Executive, CSI Leasing
