What is Bruce Irons Camp Fund’s mission?

The mission of the Bruce Irons Camp Fund is to provide residential summer camp experiences, year-round enrichment programs, and mentoring to Charlotte-Mecklenburg public school students who have limited financial resources and demonstrate strong academic effort, leadership potential, and good citizenship.

What is Habitat for Humanity of Cabarrus’ mission?

Guided by God, Habitat Cabarrus transforms lives and our community by uniting all of Cabarrus County around the cause of decent, affordable housing for everyone.

Tell us your nonprofit story—how did it get started and why?

Habitat Cabarrus was actually started in 1989 by individuals from three local churches who saw the need for our work in the community. Many Habitat affiliates began with this type of “grass roots” effort. The Faith community in Cabarrus county is really the backbone of our organization. Local churches continue to provide great support - we will be completing another Building on Faith House in December 2015.

Our promise is to educate, coach and advocate for girls and women with an aptitude, talent and passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). We are working toward an inclusive and creative science and engineering workforce.

What is Spay Neuter Charlotte’s mission?

We believe in creating a world without homeless pets. At Spay Neuter Charlotte, our mission is to end euthanasia in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. We do our part by providing high-quality, low-cost spay neuter and animal wellness services to help reduce the number of unwanted pets in our community. We believe that Charlotte should become a “No Kill” community, a place where no dog or cat has to die because it doesn’t have a home.
