Bill Pappas, Head of Operations, Consumer, Small Business, and Wealth Management, Bank of America

Bill Pappas is the head of operations for Bank of America’s Consumer, Small Business & Wealth Management businesses and leads the Global Delivery Center of Expertise (GDCE). He is a member of Bank of America’s Management Operating Committee.

In his role, Bill directs a team of more than 50,000 employees and contractors, responsible for delivering integrated service and operations solutions to clients across Consumer & Small Business, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, U.S. Trust and Retirement Solutions.

His responsibilities include Consumer Operations, including the integrated service and operations solutions to the company’s investment, private wealth management, retirement and trust accounts, as well as employee benefits plans. He also has responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of Collection & Recovery, Mortgage & Vehicle Servicing, and Enterprise Fraud oversight of internal and external fraud for customers, businesses and institutions, globally.

Additionally, Bill oversees GDCE, the bank’s enterprise global delivery organization, which provides technology and operations capabilities across Bank of America’s eight lines of business.
Previously, Bill was the chief information officer for Bank of America’s Global Wholesale Banking and Global Markets Operations and Middle Office. He also served as the Global Treasury Payment Operations executive responsible for all Global Payment Operations, based out of London.

Formerly, Bill spent seven years at General Electric Capital Services in the U.S. and Europe, in progressive financial positions.

Bill represents Bank of America on the board of the Federal Reserve’s Payments Risk Committee. He is also a member of the board for Opera Carolina and a member of the board for Apparo, a Charlotte, N.C.-based nonprofit.

Bill is a member of Bank of America’s Global Diversity & Inclusion Council. He was raised in Greece, is married and has four daughters. Bill has been chosen as one of Bank Systems & Technology’s Elite 8, recognized as a CIO who embraces change and innovation to achieve competitive distinction. He holds a B.A. cum laude in political science and finance and an MBA in international business from Bentley University.
