Congratulations to the 2016 Technology Innovation Award winner, The Lupus Foundation of America!
According to the Lupus Foundation, an estimated 1.5 million Americans, and at least five million people worldwide, have a form of lupus, a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Although Lupus is a prevalent disease, affecting a significant portion of the population both in the United States and abroad, the awareness of this disease is not as widespread as it should be. With a mission to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus, this organization aims to connect those suffering from lupus through technology. Their proposed project would live stream educational events, deliver health information via social media and mobile text alerts, and establish a virtual board room, enabling victims of this disease to feel part of an informed community.
The Lupus Foundation will receive:
$10,000 in funding to execute an innovative technology project
Strategic counsel on engaging supporters to care more, do more and give more
High level technology and business consulting
Access to technology specialists who provide guidance on their project
